We all love Deir El Qamar, the old capital of Lebanon, the land of the Emirs and the princesses. But when we stand in the old plaza, we often get overwhelmed with the urge to explore every corner that we often blindly pass by a hidden food wonder, Shish W Lahme.
Shis W Lahme is found in a small shop in the Deir el Qamar Al Midan complex, behind the Fakhreddine Mosque next to a handful of other restaurants. It is made up of an indoor seating area with a kitchen counter and an outdoor seating area.
The menu is simple, Lebanese grills in a wrap such as Tawouk, Lahem Ghanam, Kofta… drinks and fries. The service could be dine in or takeaway. Note that finding parking can be somewhat challenging especially on summer afternoons.
The service was ultra fast, there wasn’t even 5 minutes between ordering and receiving the order!
Their Tawouk wrap is nothing short of legendary. The intense crispiness of the warm pita bread, the infusion of sauces, and their juicy juicy charcoal scorched Tawouk chicken lumps wrap up the history of this town in a bite.
Not to forget their delicious fries… Their portions are immense; it’s so hard to finish the wrap! Add on top of that their affordable pricing. Would gladly come back.
